Sid is the President of Miedema Auctioneering and Appraisals, Inc. He has been a professional auctioneer with 21 years of experience. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker, a Past President of the Michigan State Auctioneers Association (1992), and a past seminar presenter for the National Auctioneers Association, the Michigan State Auctioneers Association, the Robert Morris Association and several lending institutions. Sid is a Licensed Auctioneer in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida, and Illinois.

Sid attended the Agricultural Technology Program at Michigan State University and is also a graduate of the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City , IA (1984). In the program at Michigan State , he was awarded Outstanding Agricultural Technology Student – Dairy Science for the graduating class of 1981. He was also awarded professional designations from CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) and from AMI (The Auction Marketing Institute) after successfully completing their programs. Currently he is a candidate in the AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate) Program at AMI . Sid was selected into the Michigan State Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in 2005.

Sid continues working in the Auction Industry selling both through traditional auctions and online internet auctions. These auctions include construction equipment, real estate, agricultural, marine, industrial, and business liquidations.
