Lester D. Wheeler

wheeler_lesLester D. Wheeler of Mt Morris, age 75, died Saturday, November 26, 2000 at his residence. Pastor Jerry Spring, Reverend William Kinnan and Reverend Kenneth Boschee officiated. Mr. Wheeler was born in Imlay City, Michigan on September 18, 1925. He married Nancy A. Robinette on August 18, 1973 in Davison, Michigan. He was a member of Fellowship of Christian Magicians, National Ventriloquist Association of America and a member and very active in the New Life Wesleyan Church where he and his wife were children’s ministry directors for the past 2 ½ years. He was a member of the Michigan State Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers Association. Mr. Wheeler retired from General Motors, Fisher Body, Coldwater in 1982 and was a member of UAW Local 326 and was an Auctioneer for 18 years. Les and Nancy traveled across the country conducting vacation Bible schools, doing family camps and speaking at Christian Education seminars. He always enjoyed the Auction Convention and truly loved his auction business.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy; 2 sons, Lee and wife Linda, Curtis and wife Marlene, all of Lapeer; grandchildren, Melanie and husband Charles Marshall of Howell, Tracy and husband Dave Urso of Florida, Brandi Wheeler of Lapeer, Brent Wheeler of California, Nicole Wheeler and Sean Wheeler, both of Lapeer; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Irvine and wife Helen Wheeler of Missouri, Maurice and wife Lela Wheeler of Evart, Michigan, Nelson and wife Norma of Indiana and Nell of Kalamazoo; sister, Helen Smith of Lapeer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Hattie and sister, Margery.
