MAJOR AUCTIONEER CHAMPIONSHIP & EIGHT-TIME MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL ALL-STAR COMING TO HISTORIC ST. IGNACE, MICHIGAN\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

IGNACE, MICHIGAN \u2013<\/strong> Just a stone’s throw away from world-renowned Mackinac Island, Professional auctioneers from across the Midwest, including 1984 Detroit Tigers World Champion, Lance Parrish will be in attendance at the Midwest Auctioneers Round-Up. \u00a0 The Michigan Auctioneers Association hosts the event in cooperation with the Ohio Auctioneers Association and the Indiana Auctioneers Association from August 2 through August 4, 2021, at the Kewadin Hotel in St. Ignace, Michigan.<\/p>\n

The event’s highlight is the GoToAuction.com Midwest Auctioneers Championship on Wednesday, August 3, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. \u00a0 The nationally recognized championship attracts the most skilled professional auctioneers because of the uniqueness of the competition. The championship is considered the “purest auctioneers’ competition in the country” by the auction industry because contestants are judged exclusively on their prized auction chant.<\/p>\n

“This is unique to the auction industry,” said Michigan Auctioneers Association Executive Director Tricia Wiltjer. “Historically, auctioneer championships are inundated with cumbersome rules such as how they dress, their body language, and how well they do in the on-stage interview. When it’s all said and done, the best chant may not win. \u00a0 That isn’t the case here \u2013 these auctioneers are going to be more relaxed, and they’ll put on a great show!”<\/p>\n

The conference will also include educational seminars from world-class speakers and an appearance from the 1984 Detroit Tigers World Champion, Lance Parrish. \u00a0 Parrish will be on hand for a ‘Dugout Chat’ to discuss traits on leadership, his heroic baseball career, and an autograph session afterward. Hall of Fame Scott Miedema and Nellie Beland will host auction industry-specific seminars, and prominent Wisconsin auctioneer Wayne Yoder will hold a workshop on auction logistics.<\/p>\n

A special ceremony will occur for the inaugural members who will receive the all-new Michigan Certified Auctioneer certification. \u00a0 A historic moment for the Michigan auction industry, where only approximately 20 auctioneers have qualified thus far for this exclusive certification.<\/p>\n
