Look under the \u201cAssociation Events\u201d tab above to see what events we have currently on the schedule!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Licensing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Many local Michigan municipalities require licensing, permits, bonds, etc. \u00a0Be sure to check with the local municipality to inquire about their requirements.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The State Registration for Auctioneers was repealed, going into effect on June 24, 2014. \u00a0For more information, go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/%28S%285pkrxy45rbqqlkf1grebjzie%29%29\/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&amp;objectname=2013-SB-0477\">Michigan Legislature \u2013 Senate Bill 0477 (2013)<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Discover the Benefits of Belonging<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/msaa.org\/index.php\/annual-conference-2021\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Annual Conference <\/a> is held in January of each year<\/strong>. This two day meeting provides educational opportunities for new and experienced auctioneers alike. The advertising contest held at this meeting allows auctioneers to be recognized for their creativity and professional image. Members look forward to the fun auction held in conjunction with the banquet. The fun auction includes a bid calling contest to select the champion bid caller for the year. The conference also provides continuing education credits needed for other states\u2019 licenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Real Estate Continuing Education Course<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Because so many auctioneers are also real estate licensees, <strong> MAA offers a one day course<\/strong> that meets the Michigan requirements for the continuing education credits needed annually by real estate licensees. This course is held in conjunction with the annual convention.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MAA on the Web<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The MAA Website, <a href=\"https:\/\/msaa.org\/index.php\/msaa-awards\/\">an Award Winning Web Site<\/a>, is a wonderful source of information<\/strong> for the auctioneer and the consumer. All MAA members have access to the Online Auction Calendar, Upcoming Events, the Discussion Forum and many other options. Each MAA Member is listed in a searchable directory for consumers to find an auctioneer that suits their needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Networking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Through the Annual Convention and Summer Seminar, <strong> you develop contacts with other successful auctioneers<\/strong>. One of the most exciting aspects of these events is the opportunity to meet new people and share knowledge and information. Any auctioneer will directly benefit from these ideas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Midwest Auctioneers Roundup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The summer conference is a<strong> great <\/strong><strong>opportunity for education and networking <\/strong> with other auctioneers throughout the state and beyond.\u00a0 The Summer Conference has been changed to the Midwest Auctioneers Roundup, which is now the premier networking opportunity for auctioneers in the Midwest.\u00a0 It is a multi-state networking event where auctioneers come together for some fantastic networking and educational opportunities.\u00a0 It hosts one day of networking fun with golf, shooting and more, plus one day of education.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Michigan Auction Gavel<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Michigan Auction Gavel<\/em>, an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/msaa.org\/index.php\/egavel\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Award Winning Publication<\/a><\/strong>, is the <strong> official publication of the MAA<\/strong> and is published on a quarterly basis. It is the information source for the association, containing information of benefit to members, advising them of association activities, upcoming meetings and current issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Directory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The annual directory is published in the spring issue of<em> The Michigan Auction Gavel <\/em>each year and <strong> lists all current members of MAA<\/strong>. This is an invaluable tool for becoming familiar with other auctioneers in your area and for locating individuals that you can contact for support in the industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marketing Contest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you produce professional advertising pieces or take exceptional and unique photographs at your auctions, this is an opportunity for you to showcase your work. A number of categories are available, and winners are awarded plaques. Whether new or experienced, a previous winner or a first-time entrant, you have an equal opportunity to garner a prize.
