 Joseph A. Phillips was sworn in as the President of the Michigan State Auctioneers Association at their Annual Conference in Dearborn, Michigan on Friday, January 23, 2009. Joe served in 2008 as the president elect and the Conference Chair for the very successful conference which hosted auctioneers from all over Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and beyond. Previously, Joe served and director as well as vice president, chairing the Auction Committees, the Membership Committee and introducing the largest award based membership recruitment program the MSAA has ever seen. Joe's dedication and generosity to the Association and the Auction Industry continues to grow as he hosts an Annual St. Jude's Fundraiser Auction raising funds for the MSAA's dedicated charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Joe's and his Auction Team will also host the 4th Annual All Star Auction this year in October with all funds going to the MSAA's Auctioneers Making a Difference Program, which is the new program raising funds for St. Jude's Kids.

After 18 years in the Auction profession, Joseph Phillips has built a large multi-business complex in Fort Gratiot, MI. The complex is located on 10 acres in over 30,000 square feet of buildings. The main building of over 20,000 square feet houses a Live Auction Room capable of seating 400 people, a large 60 booth indoor Flea Market, Restaurant, 32 Flavor Ice Cream Parlor, Coffee Shop with Wireless Internet and Internet Cafe for Live Internet Auction Bidding, Reading Room and Internet Sales Offices. Also on the property with the main complex is the 7,000 square foot wholesale warehouse and workshop, 3,000 square foot greenhouse and 5 acre outdoor Flea Market. The Auction company also offers appraisal services, estate planning, repossession services and Real Estate Sales. Because all of our businesses compliment each other we are able to offer multi service plans for liquidation of assets in almost any area.

Joseph is also a graduate of Missouri Auction School and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He and his wife, Beth, have two children and are very active in their community
