Join us for the most exciting part of the MSAA’s Annual Conference! The Michigan Auctioneer Championship is the biggest and best competition in Michigan where Auctioneers gather to show off their bid calling skills and compete in a friendly competition with their peers. Contestants will compete in the preliminary round by auctioning two items. The top competitors who proceed to the finals will not only auction more specialty items, but they will go through an interview portion. At the end of the evening, the 2012 Michigan Auctioneer Champion will be announced!

Jason won the 2011 Michigan Auctioneer Championships on January 26, 2011. He traveled to the International Auctioneer Championships and competed among the top in the world to represent Michigan Auctioneers. Be the next Michigan Auctioneer Champion – enter the MAC!
Rules Overview:
- Any current MSAA Member can enter (Entries close at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 25). *Please Pre-register to help keep the late entry confusion down.
- You must register and pay for a full registration at the convention and have your current membership dues paid for the year 2012. Contestants must be at least 18 years of age and have been a member of the MSAA for two prior years in order to compete in the competition.
- Members may only compete in one competition, the MAC or the Ringman, but NOT both. Ringman Contestants are NOT Eligible to compete in the MAC.
- There will be a $75.00 entry fee. ($85.00 after 1/6/2012)
- You must bring the TWO donated items to sell. Value of the contestants donated items should be between $20.00 and $250.00.
- All contestants will meet at 2:00 PM in the Designated area to draw a number for the order of go and to review the rules. Please plan to arrive EARLY!
- There will be 5 judges for the contest.
- Contestants will be called to compete and will state:
• Name & Contestant Number (& company name if desired)
• Name the location of the business
• Sell TWO items
• Contestants will be able to view the competition rather than being secluded before they sell. Be sure to be aware of your position for order of go so you are ready to compete when called upon.
• Contestants will NOT be allowed to sell in the Fun Auction or work the ring until the contest is completed, or they have been eliminated. - Five finalists will be chosen (six on a tie). They will draw for position.
- Interview – 3-5 questions per finalists. Finalists will be secluded during the Interview portion of the contest.
- Finalists will be called up, state name (& company name if desired) and location of business, sell two items (supplied by the MSAA), one after the other.
- A Champion will be announced.
- Prizes: The Title, championship trophy and choice of ring or buckle, and a year-long schedule of media interviews and public appearances. In addition, the MAC Champion will have their entry fee paid into the NAA 2012 International Auctioneer Championship in Spokane, Washington. This will not include travel expenses or registrations. The champion will have the option to purchase the item they didn’t choose as winnings (ring/buckle) at their own cost.
